History

Marlite was founded in 1930 as a manufacturer of wall products by the Marsh family in Dover, Ohio – its current world headquarters. Supported by an abundance of excellent craftsmen, the company produced award-winning architectural interior products that propelled its growth in Dover and additional fabrication/service facilities.

  • 1948: Marlite became an operating division of Masonite
  • 1984: Purchased by USG Interiors
  • 1989: The company was spun off in a leveraged buyout by former Marlite executives
  • 2004: The company was sold again, this time to Marlite executives John Popa and Fred Dudley who bring a renewed vision of industry, leadership, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • 2008: Co-owner, Executive Vice President Chief Operating Officer, Fred Dudley retired September 30, 2008.
    • Greg Triplett was promoted to Vice President- Sales and Marketing
    • Rick Miller was promoted to Vice President – Human Resources
    • John Popa, owner of Marlite states, “With the retirement of Fred Dudley, (VP and co-owner), I feel Greg and Rick are excellent choices for these VP positions and will play integral roles ensuring the continued growth of Marlite. I look forward to working with each of them as they begin their new assignments.”
